Spanish origin variety. Very popular in Cataluña where it is named as Macabeo and it is used for champagne making.

CLUSTER AND GRAPE
Big cluster. Medium yellow colour grape.
PLAGUES AND DISEASES
Sensitive to botrytis, so it should be planted in open slopes.
AGRICULTURAL CHARACTERISTICS
Vigorous upright shape. Drought sensitive. Very productive. Prune control requires.
OENOLOGIC CHARACTERISTICS
This variety is used for dry lightly acid wines. It is recommended for he production of barrel fermented wines. Widely used for producing “Cava” sparkling wine.
