Sweet Early


ORIGIN
Released from S. Lugli and S. Sansavini (A.C.D. Bologna University). It is a cross between Burlat x Sunburst.

TREE
Medium to high vigour, well branched

BLOSSOM
Medium to early blossom time: Very important and uniform floriferousness. Self fertile variety

RIPENING
Very early ( 4 days according to Burlat). Uniform ripening in one pick.

FRUIT
High weight for the season (10 gr) round shape, symmetrical. Dark red over uniform brilliant red colour in all the surface. Rose medium firm flesh, very sweet (>15º Brix) and low acid content (4 g/l.malic acid). Medium- long peduncle of medium thickness. Medium stone size.

AGRICULTURAL EVALUATION
High and constant productivity in 4th year. It produces fruits both in short shoots and one year branches. In raining springs it has been slightly susceptible to splitting (less to 20% and mainly in peduncular zone).

EVALUATION
Interesting variety for its early ripening time, uniform harvest, large size, attractive, brilliant red colour and high productivity. It is a variety to replace Burlat.
