Arróniz


It is cultivated in Alava and Navarra. Very well adapted to the local cold and dry conditions.

DENOMINATION

It is also named as “Hembra” or “Vidrial”.

LOCATION

Only in Alava and Navarra.

AGRICULTURAL CHARACTERISTICS

Early producing with high and constant productivity. Medium vigorous tree. Easy picking.

Cold and drought resistance.
Rather resistant to leaf spot disease and low resistance to tuberculosis and  to olive-fly.

Peculiar pruning system, in open growing with low trunk and few wood.


MORPHOLOGY

Leaf: Medium long size and quite wide.
Fruit: Oval and symmetric, round tip. Without nipple.
Stone: elliptical shape, with pointed base and tip and it finishes in a point.


PRODUCT

Appreciated oil and high oil content. Important commercial development in the areas where it is produced.
